Everyone loves a puppy

. But keep in mind that puppies grow up into full grown dogs and if your puppy is not properly trained they will no longer be so cute. Training your puppy doesn't have to be a difficult experience as long as you approach it with the right attitude. It must be fun for you and your pet. In this article I would like to give you some easy tips for helping to train your new puppy.

First, you must start to train your dog when they are a puppy. If you wait till they get older it can become an almost impossible chore and is not fair to your dog. It is much easier to train a puppy than an older dog.

Secondly, start with some basic commands, such as sit, stay and heel. Dogs learn be repetition. So you must go through these exercises with your puppy at least twice a day. You don't want to do it too often because you and your dog will get bored. After your dog obeys your command a reward is a good thing. If you want your training sessions to be productive for both you and your dog keep them short.

Third, after your puppy has received all of it's vaccinations you may want to think about training classes. There are 2 different types of classes, there art the classes where you and your puppy go to class together. This is the more popular and cheaper type of class. You and your dog learn together. A trained professional will instruct you with your dog there how best to train your dog. These classes usually last for a duration of about 6 weeks with you and your pet attending twice a week.

The other type of training is where you will take your dog to a training school where your pet may stay for a period of 2 weeks and a trainer will attempt to train your puppy in the basics. Whichever method you choose remember a well trained pet makes for a much more rewarding and satisfying experience.
